Gretchen Lee Weng was a bright and positive young girl. She was smart, organized, ambitious, and witty. Gretchen was a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a niece, a granddaughter, and the best friend a person could ask for. Before her diagnosis, she had an average teenage life. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, playing field hockey, running track, playing the bass, violin, piano, playing with her cats, reading, art, and much more. In August 2022 Gretchen was diagnosed with DIPG. Even through it all, she continued to put on a smile and be there for her family and friends. Every birthday, party, or event, Gretchen made an effort to show up and continue her normal life. Gretchen's diagnosis made it difficult for her to live her everyday life and enjoy her favorite activities and even going to school. Gretchen's family and friends were by her side the whole time, and Gretchen unfortunately passed away in October of 2023.
