About DIPG
Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma is a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer- predominantly found in children. Glioma is a type of tumor that occurs in the brain/spinal cord. Unfortunately, it is almost always fatal, being the number one most lethal form of brain cancer, and up to 300 kids die from DIPG per year.

Symptoms of DIPG
Some symptoms of DIPG include- dizziness, slurred speech, reduced memory, odd eye movements, trouble maintaining balance, and headaches. Patients often deteriorate rapidly and don't usually survive beyond 2 years post-diagnosis.

Finding A Cure
DIPG is almost impossible to treat because it is often located in an inoperable portion of the brain. Radiation sessions and experimental trials are typically the only course of action, however this takes a large toll on patients. The search for a cure continues- and funding scientific research can go a long way in this journey.
